Feng Shui for sleep

Sleeping well is essential. It affects health, wellbeing, career, relationships and your ability to live life to the full.

Feng Shui for sleep can go a long way to establish a peaceful night’s sleep. In fact, as a feng shui consultant, the bedroom is one of my main focus areas.

The aim of Feng Shui for sleep is to make your bedroom a place for just three things — rest, romance and relaxation. It gives the room a peaceful ambience where soft, restorative energy flows freely.

As a result:

  • Your bedroom becomes a place of sanctuary
  • The quality of your sleep improves
  • There is less clutter and more space
  • It promotes connection and harmony in your relationship
  • If you’re seeking a partner, Feng Shui clears the pathway to finding the right person

As a Feng Shui consultant, sustainability is important to me. When we’re clearing and decluttering, I’ll help you find ways to dispose of items sustainably. As many as possible will be recycled, reused and regenerated.

My name is Lynn Kingdon. If you’d like a no-obligation conversation about Feng Shui for sleep, I’d be delighted to hear from you

What is Feng Shui for sleeping?

Feng Shui (which means `wind and water’) originated in China around 3,000 years ago. It’s based on a Taoist principle that energy (known as chi) flows through everything, including ourselves.

Feng Shui aims to allow the free flow of chi while balancing its two complementary and opposing elements — `yin’ and `yang’.

While the concepts of feng shui can be intricate, there is a simple truth at its core. As humans, we are inherently linked to, and affected by, our environment.

Decluttering is a major part of feng shui for the bedroom. However, it’s more than just clearing out unwanted items. Often, bedrooms are used for multiple purposes — work, exercise, reading, watching TV — so it’s not surprising that sleep suffers as a result. There’s too much forceful `yang’.

With Feng Shui for sleeping, I help you to mitigate the energetic `yang’ element in favour of the softer, more passive `yin’. The idea is to redirect the flow of energy to bring calm and serenity to your bedroom.

Feng Shui for the bedroom. How does it work?

It’s a collaborative process. I would never come in and rearrange everything. It’s important that you feel comfortable, and that any changes work on a practical level.

This is how my Feng Shui consultancy works:

  • Conversation — I’ll start by finding out where you are now, and where you’d like to be as a result of a Feng Shui consultation

  • A natal chart — Depending on your date and time of birth, there will be specific natural elements, symbols, colours, imagery and animals which are beneficial for you

  • Analysis — I take a detailed look at your sleeping space: its compass direction, furniture and item placement, artwork, colour, the surrounding or adjoining rooms, auspicious and inauspicious areas

  • Consultation — I explain how to make changes, and why they will be beneficial. I’m happy to roll up my sleeves and help you in a practical way

  • Sustainable decluttering — I help you dispose of unwanted items in a sustainable way

  • A written report — I’ll summarise my analysis and recommendations. It will be a helpful resource when you want to make changes in the future

Shall we have a chat? I can explain more about how it works and you can see what you think.

The benefits of Feng Shui for the bedroom

When you’ve been sleeping in the same room for many years, it’s easy to become used to things as they are.

Feng Shui gives you a new perspective. It’s about creating the right balance of elements and promoting restful energy, and there are many benefits to this:

  • Reduced levels of stress and anxiety
  • More space, less clutter
  • Sleep and overall wellbeing improves
  • Nightmares and night terrors can be reduced or even eliminated
  • In relationships, it can strengthen the bond between you and attract love

FAQs

You’ll have questions so I’ve asked some of them here. If your question doesn’t appear, please feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to provide the answer:

Yes, Feng Shui can work via a video call. The session works on the same principles as an in-person consultation. The only difference is that I’ll be guiding you as you move around your living space, finding its centre and establishing the compass directions.

I’m based in Horsham and will travel throughout East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey. Don’t worry if you live outside this area. We can arrange an online consultation. Alternatively, I can come and see you in person — although I will need to recover travel expenses.

Yes. I’ll treat your home as one area, but I can narrow down the consultation to specific rooms. In my experience, the most popular rooms tend to be bedrooms and kitchens — but a consultation can focus on anywhere in your home.

I’ll need your date of birth and, if known, the time you were born. I’ll also ask you for the dates and times of birth of other people in your household or business. In addition, I’ll ask for a floorplan of your home or place of work. If you can’t get hold of a floorplan, don’t worry. I can give you advice on how to get hold of one, or we can draft a floorplan as part of the consultation.

Please don’t. It’s important for me to see the daily, real world environment in which you’re living or working. It helps me understand the impact this is currently having on you and your wellbeing.
