Feng Shui for interiors

Feng Shui for interiors allows positive energy to flow through your home. It transforms an uncomfortable living space into a harmonious environment which serves the needs and desires of the people within it.

We are all influenced by our environment. You can enter a room and instantly feel comfortable, or experience the exact opposite. There’s something `off’. You just can’t identify why.

It’s down to the physical space itself. Your surroundings have a profound effect on your mood, relationships and ultimately, your life.

With Feng Shui for interiors, you will notice the difference straight away.

  • It brings calm to previously cluttered, overactive areas
  • There is more space to breathe and move forward in life
  • Sleep improves
  • You’ll know how to make colours work for you, not against you
  • With the right balance of energies, you’ll thrive both materially and emotionally

As a Feng Shui consultant, I work mainly in Surrey and Sussex. Sustainability plays a key role in how I work. Decluttering is an important aspect of Feng Shui, and I always ensure that items are recycled, reused and regenerated.

My name is Lynn Kingdon. If you’d like a no-obligation conversation about Feng Shui for interiors, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

What is Feng Shui for interiors?

Feng Shui is a 3,000-year-old Chinese practice. It translates as `wind and water’ — the two most powerful forces in nature. It’s derived from a Taoist principle that energy (known as chi) flows through everything, including us.

Feng Shui for interiors establishes the free flow of chi while balancing its two complementary and opposing elements `yin’ and `yang’.

I draw on natural elements, colour, compass direction, light, ventilation, placement and ergonomic design to make adjustments which redirect the flow of energy.

In your home, I’ll balance these elements and harness their energies differently depending on what you need from each area. The idea is to make the life force chi work for you, rather than against you.

How does Feng Shui for interiors work?

It’s a collaborative process, both with you as the homeowner and with other property professionals. I’m happy to work alongside your interior designer, bathroom or kitchen installer, your builder or architect.

I would never come in and rearrange everything. This is your home. It’s important that you feel comfortable with the changes, and that they work on a practical level.

This is how my Feng Shui consultancy works:

  • Conversation — I’ll start by finding out where you are now, and where you’d like to be as a result of a Feng Shui consultation

  • A natal chart — Depending on your date and time of birth, there will be specific natural elements, symbols, colours, imagery and animals which are beneficial for you

  • Analysis — I take a detailed look at the different areas of your home: compass orientation, furniture and item placement, artwork, colour, the purpose of each room, auspicious and inauspicious areas

  • Consultation — I explain how to make changes, and why they will be beneficial. I’m happy to roll up my sleeves and help you in a practical way

  • Sustainable decluttering — I help you dispose of unwanted items in a sustainable way

  • A written report — I’ll summarise my analysis and recommendations. It will be a helpful resource when you want to make changes in the future

Shall we have a chat? I can explain more about how it works and you can see what you think.

The benefits of using Feng Shui for interior design

When you’ve been living the same way for a while, there will probably be stagnant areas which are blocking energy. If you’ve become used to this, you may not notice that they’re creating heaviness and pressure.

By balancing the flow of energy and neutralising disruptive elements, Feng Shui makes your home a calmer, happier place to be. You will feel more comfortable in your living space.

It gives you a new perspective. Feng Shui allows positive energy to flow freely, and there are many benefits to this:

  • Reduced levels of stress and anxiety
  • More space, less clutter
  • Sleep and overall wellbeing improves
  • You can attract abundance and prosperity to your life
  • From the moment you walk through the front door, it feels like home

I’m Lynn Kingdon. Get in touch to tell me what you need from Feng Shui. I’ll explain more about how I can help.

FAQs

You’ll have questions so I’ve asked some of them here. If your question doesn’t appear, please feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to provide the answer:

Yes, Feng Shui can work via a video call. The session works on the same principles as an in-person consultation. The only difference is that I’ll be guiding you as you move around your living space, finding its centre and establishing the compass directions.

I’m based in Horsham and will travel throughout East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey. Don’t worry if you live outside this area. We can arrange an online consultation. Alternatively, I can come and see you in person — although I will need to recover travel expenses.

Yes. I’ll treat your home as one area, but I can narrow down the consultation to specific rooms. In my experience, the most popular rooms tend to be bedrooms and kitchens — but a consultation can focus on anywhere in your home.

Yes. Feng Shui works extremely well in outside spaces because it’s based on creating harmony within the natural environment. I’ll help you use colours, shapes, specific types of plants and water features to make this space a haven of tranquillity and calm.

I’ll need your date of birth and, if known, the time you were born. I’ll also ask you for the dates and times of birth of other people in your household. In addition, I’ll ask for a floorplan of your household. If you can’t get hold of a floorplan, don’t worry. I can give you advice on how to get hold of one, or we can draft a floorplan as part of the consultation.

Please don’t. It’s important for me to see the daily, real world environment in which you’re working. It helps me understand the impact this is currently having on you and your wellbeing.
